In need of a NYS certified teacher of Mandarin Chinese. Mandarin is the only foreign language offered at the school, and our students in Kindergarten and Grades 1, 2, 6, and 7 study the Chinese language and culture. There are 220 students in our school. There are 2 classes on each grade level, except Kindergarten, which has 1 class.
Full time position: Teaching 2 weekly classes in Kindergarten and grades 1 and 2; three weekly classes in grade 6; four weekly classes in grade 7 (a total of 24 periods weekly). We offer a competitive salary and a full benefits program.
OR
Part time position – K – 2: Teaching 10 weekly periods (2 full days) in Kindergarten and grades 1 and 2. This position does not qualify for benefits, but we offer a competitive salary.
Part time position – Grades 6 and 7: Teaching 14 weekly periods in grades 6 and 7. This position does not qualify for benefits, but we offer a competitive salary.

Mandarin Chinese Teacher Needed (full-time). The Rochester City School District has received funding from the U.S. Department of
Education to begin a new foreign language program that will give students from
Nathaniel Rochester Community School No. 3, the opportunity to learn Mandarin
Chinese. In addition to basic literacy skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), much of the instruction will center around thematic units that will focus on embedding linguistic and cultural aspects of China. These units will engage students in activities in which they must think critically, and provide opportunities for students to use the target language in meaningful contexts.
