About the Conference
Asia Society and the College Board hosted the National Chinese Language Conference on April 17 - 19 in Washington DC. It was the first large-scale meeting of U.S. education leaders to promote Chinese language education and global competence among U.S. students.
Participants learned how to
- make the case for Chinese in their schools and communities;
- establish and expand meaningful Chinese language programs to all students;
- model new program after best practices and research;
- prepare or find highly qualified Chinese language teachers; and
- obtain information, technical assistance, and resources.
In attendance were nearly 750 policymakers, school board members, state or local education administrators, school principals and teachers, university faculty and parents. Participants traveled from 44 states and seven countries to attend.

Continuing Education Units
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) will be awarded for full participation in the conference. If you have not turned in your completed CEU form during the conference, please mail it to the address printed on the form.
